Volunteers
Due to Covid, we are not open for Volunteers for 2022. This is for folks that want to get their hands dirty, make a meaningful contribution to the farm and also to have a little fun. Folks that have the $595 CSA working share fit in here. Varying physical abilities can be accommodated. This is also open to anyone that would like to contribute time and energy to the farm without expectation of anything in return other than sun and fun. Supervised children welcome. Minimum 2-hour shifts.
CSA Work Trades
Due to Covid, we are not open for Work Trades for 2021. This is a core group of CSA members that commit to work on the farm 3-4 hours each week (Medium - Large Trade) May 1st – September 30th. They receive a full Medium or Large CSA share in exchange for their work. These folks have the opportunity to receive surplus vegetables and “seconds” as well as a deep, farm-learning experience. This is a labor intense job and requires a full season commitment. Two weeks off each season.
Interns
This is an unpaid, 6-week Internship that provides the opportunity to experience the inner workings of a farm and get a feel for what it takes to work on a farm. Ten hours per week and a 6-week commitment during a pre-assigned time period is required. This is a labor-intensive job that may require working in inclement weather, heavy lifting, squatting, bending, sweating, bugs, knives, hoeing and operating small machinery. Training will be provided for all jobs. Interns will receive up to $20 in vegetables weekly and a $250 bonus will be paid after successful completion of the 6-week Internship.
Apprentices
This is an unpaid, 6-week Apprenticeship for folks that are serious about learning to farm. This provides the opportunity to deeply experience the inner workings of a farm and get a feel for what it takes to work on and run a farm. Care is taken to provide experience in as many farm jobs as possible. Twenty hours per week and a 6-week commitment during a pre-assigned time period is required. This is a labor-intensive job that may require working in inclement weather, heavy lifting, squatting, bending, sweating, bugs, knives, hoeing and operating small machinery. Training will be provided for all jobs. Interns will receive up to $30 in vegetables weekly and a $500 bonus will be paid after successful completion of the 6-week Apprenticeship.
Farm Staff
Farm staff members are the “right hand women/men” to the farmer, Lara. Work will be in all aspects of the farm and will require doing what needs to be done on a daily basis. This is a labor-intensive job that may require working in inclement weather, heavy lifting, squatting, bending, sweating, bugs, knives, hoeing and operating small machinery. Training will be provided for all jobs. Experience is preferred and compensation is $14.00-15.00 per hour depending on experience and productivity. Staff receives up to $30 weekly in vegetables and a possible fruit share Aug-Oct ($200). A full season commitment is required.
